Reimagining Class Discovery: Skillshare's Class Details Page Overhaul

Startup & Entrepreneurship
I began my career co-founding and contributing to startups at Porto Digital, crafting innovative solutions in event space rentals and customer loyalty programs. Incubated at one of LATAM's largest innovation hubs, I honed skills in rapid prototyping, user-centric design, and multitasking to deliver impactful products with limited resources, gaining expertise in bootstrapping, agile methodologies, and lean startup principles.
Corporate Days
After four years as an entrepreneur, I sought experience in larger corporations, landing a role at one of Brazil's biggest brokers. Since then, I’ve led end-to-end design for complex, high-impact projects at XP Investimentos, GoDaddy, and Skillshare.
Focused on crafting cohesive and holistic experiences, I’ve worked with design systems, complex dashboards, and multi-device POS, driving operational excellence through design ops.
I’ve perfected my ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, balancing business goals, user needs, and technical constraints to deliver innovative solutions impacting millions of users.
A class details page that tried to do everything—serve as a discovery tool, study guide, and community hub—was falling short. This jack-of-all-trades approach diluted its effectiveness, resulting in lower engagement rates.
To address this, we redesigned the user journey by splitting it into two distinct phases: a new class details page laser-focused on content discovery and evaluation, and a dedicated classroom experience for learning and community interaction. This separation allowed us to tailor each phase to specific user needs, improving engagement and satisfaction.
A Comprehensive Content Overview with Enhanced Class Relevance and Credibility
By providing key information upfront, we improved user engagement and retention. The clear division between discovery and learning phases resulted in a more streamlined and effective user journey. Users can now thoroughly evaluate a class before committing, leading to better-matched learning experiences and higher satisfaction. This redesign also enabled us to seamlessly integrate new products, such as related 1-on-1 sessions or complementary digital products, within the discovery process, aligning with our platform’s ongoing evolution.
A glimpse into the future
Classroom Experience
We planned to create a focused classroom environment where users can watch lessons without distractions, take and organize notes, access project resources, and easily interact with peers and teachers.
A/B Testing
Our classes contain various information blocks that can be rearranged and reorganized. We developed different approaches for A/B testing to continually refine and improve both the discovery and learning experience.
